A New Love Story is on the Horizon

Over the last couple of years, I’ve mentioned that I’ve got this American historical romance that’s been floating around for a long time. Like, years. And that I’ve been getting closer and closer to getting it in front of readers over the past several months.

That day is FINALLY almost here!

Over a decade in the making

I started working on this way back in 2013, possibly earlier when I thought it might suffice as a short story. The characters quickly informed me that their tale was far too big for that. I wrote a synopsis for myself and got to work. By 2015, the story was “done”, and then the long slog of revisions commenced.

I entered multiple contests, a process that culminated in final rounds (and a couple second place finishes!) in three well-regarded RWA chapter contests in 2018.

These accolades did not land me publishing contracts, however. Five years, two more kids, and a pandemic later, I finally pulled the draft out of limbo and started revising again. Submitted a couple more times to publishers. Wrangled some beta readers.

I’m in the final throes of a “last pass” of edits and revisions. (If you follow my socials, you know I’ve decided to completely rewrite chapter 34 after making some changes to the hero’s emotional Black Moment.) BUT that does not mean you have to wait any longer for the lovely thing that is MY COVER!

Coming September 2026

Gorgeous, isn’t it?

I am so thrilled with the work done by Kim at The Killion Group, Inc. with this cover (she did my new covers for the Sweet Somethings series as well!). She was super patient with all my questions and requests, beautifully layered the stock images I chose and made adjustments to color, lighting, atmosphere, and more based on the reference photos I sent, and adding the painterly look that says “historical romance”. She really brought my heroine and the setting of Sackets Harbor to life.

Details, please!

Right now, I’m aiming for a mid-September release date, so keep an eye out for specifics on that as well as info on pre-orders. I’ll also have sign-ups for interested ARC readers soon!
