A Sweet Update

Has it really been almost three months since I last dropped a blog post?

It’s certainly been busy. Running back and forth with kid activities, family coming into town, deciding to rip apart our kids’ bathroom and completely rebuild it from the ground up. (Okay, that wasn’t my idea, but I did greenlight the project.)

With summer break just around the corner, I don’t expect things to get less busy than they are now. But I am looking forward to several very exciting things.

First and foremost, I am at LAST in the process of reissuing the Sweet Somethings series in paperback. So far, BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE and WHEN IN ROME are both out on Amazon and are also available anywhere that’s connected to Ingram.

THE ONE I’M WITH drops this Tuesday, May 12th…

And HE TAKES THE CAKE will be available in print on May 19th.

Hopefully when I have a moment to look more closely at IngramSpark, I will have direct buy links for all the books in the series so you can basically order from me directly. I’m learning as I go.

I will also be updating my series’ pages with new buy links over the next couple weeks. Books2Read is nice, but the universal book links don’t want to play nicely with updated buy links of late, and at this point it’s almost easier to just provide all the links myself.

So many things!

First, I’ve been pretty loud on my socials about how I’d planned a short story set in the lead up to the American Revolution, which I then researched myself out of. It’s a full blown novel plot, with two more books for a planned trilogy buzzing in the background. At this point, I’m just neck deep in research and learning a ton of historical context that I’m giddily excited to share. So keep an eye on the socials for those moments when I fully geek out.

Second, I did manage to draft a short story for next spring’s fairytale themed anthology from Carolina Romance Writers. More info on that to come. And don’t forget that we have two other anthologies out now as well – Love in the Lowcountry: A Winter Holiday Collection and Love in the Lowcountry: A Vacation Collection! I have stories in both. My sweet historical, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”, has a brand new epilogue added when we reissued our winter holiday anthology, and “Forever After at the Ever Rest Inn”, a sweet contemporary romance, can be found in our vacation-themed anthology.

Last, and I have hardly said a word about this… I am planning to release my first historical romance this fall! I’m in final edits and beta reads right now, and hopefully will be getting my cover art info over to my cover artist in the next couple weeks.

So stay tuned!

It’s A Sweet Re-Release Day!

It’s been quite a road getting here, but BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE is officially available – again! – for purchase!

Is there anything new about this book other than the gorgeous cover? Not at heart – it’s the same sweet story it always was, just some tech (I mean, nobody uses Skype anymore, do they?) and location references were updated.

Be sure to head over to Amazon to grab your copy for Kindle. The wide re-release is in the works (again, there’s a learning curve), and news about that is forthcoming.

(The updated print re-release is coming soon as well. Until then, you can still grab signed copies of the original print editions through my Square store.)

What about the rest of the series?

Good news! The rest of the Sweet Somethings series is available for preorder, AND I have finalized release dates.

Official Release Dates:

I anticipate these titles’ wide re-releases will happen much faster, as I’ll know for sure what I’m doing by then.

I’m so excited, y’all!

Sweet Somethings NEW Cover Reveals & Preorder Info

It’s been a wild couple of weeks at Casa de Rowan. In addition to the lovely madness of Christmas with three kids and lots of family, I got the final files for my new Sweet Somethings covers!

Are you ready?

I’m so excited to share these with you! Be sure to read all the way to the end for important info on my planned schedule for preorders and release days.

These gorgeous new covers were created by Kim at The Killion Group, Inc., and she absolutely nailed every one of them! I was blown away by how she took my requests and brought the vision and tone of each book to life.

Aren’t these amazing? Which is your favorite – I definitely can’t pick just one.

Now for the important details…

Preorder and Re-Release Info

I’m still ironing out some of the exact specifics of how I’m going to release wide, BUT here’s what I can tell you.

Better Than Chocolate (Sweet Somethings Book 1) will be available for preorder on Monday, January 5th (barring any weird technical glitches) for Kindle, with an anticipated re-release date of January 12th.

Wide release through other ebook retailers will follow. I’m going with Kindle first because I already know how to do that (thanks to my experience with “The Furlough”). But my plan is to also be available at other major retailers (B&N, Kobo, etc.) as soon as possible.

The rest of the series will re-release starting in late January/early February, and specific preorder and release dates will be shared here and on my socials. By then, I’ll have learned the process for a wide release and the ebooks will go live across the board, not just Kindle.

What about print books?

I’m still waiting on final print book covers (because I’m also getting a logo for the first time ever!), and the process to release in print looks like it has a bigger learning curve. Once I have all my ducks in a row, I’ll announce print book releases ASAP.

In the meantime, if you really want to get your hands on print copies, I do still have a small inventory of the original print editions of the full series. The liquidation sale I started before the holidays is still in effect, and you can order the series, autographed, on my Square site.

That’s it! I can’t wait!

Bookish Updates

After many months of an unintended hiatus (outside of some silliness on my socials), I have several updates of the literary persuasion to share, just in time for fall coziness and holiday preparations.

Anthologies!

In case you missed it, because I totally forgot to take the time to promo it as I should have done, Carolina Romance Writers (formerly LowcountryRWA) released a fabulous vacation-themed anthology this past spring. All stories are set in the South Carolina Lowcountry and range from super sweet (like mine) to super spicy. A little something for everyone!

My sweet contemporary romance, “Forever After at the Ever Rest Inn”, brings together Max and Vivi when Max heads off for a solo getaway near Georgetown, South Carolina, and a stay at Vivi’s bed and breakfast. Having met briefly as children, the two grow close as they explore the Lowcountry and figure out how to save the inn (and Vivi’s family’s legacy).

Love in the Lowcountry: A Vacation Collection, is available for ebook and print and you should pick up a copy ASAP!

In fact, if you want to pick up a copy in person and meet some of our amazing authors, there are two events where you can do that:

And while we don’t have specifics quite yet, keep an eye out for announcements about the re-release of Love in the Lowcountry, Vol. 2: A Winter Holiday Anthology, with a new cover, a new story, and a couple of added epilogues (including one for my sweet historical, “Let Me Call You Sweetheart”).

A Sweet Re-Release (or 4)!

If you recall, Soul Mate Publishing closed its doors last October, which means all rights to my Sweet Somethings Series reverted to me. A lack of time, knowledge, and financial resources have kept me from re-releasing these books to this point.

But that’s soon to change! I am excited to begin the process of getting these books back in print – at least virtual print – with shiny new covers. If all goes as hoped, I’ll have the ebooks available in time for Christmas. That’s my goal, anyway, so stay tuned for announcements about preorders and where to buy.

I won’t be jumping into print re-releases quite yet, as I still have a healthy inventory of print copies from my Soul Mate days. Keep an eye out for info on how to purchase the series in print at a specially discounted price as we head into holiday shopping season.

What’s Ahead in 2026?

I always choose lofty writing goals each year, but going into 2026, I anticipate some projects taking shape.

First, my post-Civil War historical romance didn’t get picked up by the publisher I hoped would be interested. So I’m going to press forward with indie publishing of that story (plus its planned sequels) as we move into 2026.

Second, once the Sweet Somethings series is back up and running, I plan to dive back into the long-in-limbo spinoff trilogy that will follow Marissa’s three best girlfriends, who were introduced in THE ONE I’M WITH.

Beyond that, who knows? Maybe a couple more short stories will be in play. If one shoots for the moon and misses, you’re stilll going to land among the stars. (Okay, I paraphrased Oscar Wilde on that one.)

Who’s Ready for a Romance Anthology?

I have certainly dropped several balls in keeping everyone updated on my participation in the upcoming Love in the Lowcountry anthology. (Can I blame the ducks that refuse to stay in rows? I’m not sure all of them are even mine at this point.)

Anyway, y’all may remember my sadness at not being able to participate in this anthology because I just could NOT wrap my head around the story I wanted to tell. The draft just wasn’t drafting. But the amazing Powers That Be gave me extension after extension and granted me all the grace in the world. FINALLY, I was able to get the draft done.

Now, several months and rounds of critiques and edits later, we are only weeks away from the release of LOVE IN THE LOWCOUNTRY: A VACATIONS COLLECTION.

The release date is officially March 7th, but logistics of the release are still a little in flux. As soon as I have finalized details and preorder info, I will share it.

In the meantime, we are still welcoming ARC readers, so if you’re interested, you can sign up here.

Now to the fun part…. some details on my story!

Forever After at the Ever Rest Inn

Disillusioned with his career and reeling from a breakup, Max Andersen heads to a Lowcountry bed and breakfast near Georgetown, South Carolina, for time away to relax and determine the next steps in his life.

The Ever Rest Inn isn’t only a bed and breakfast. It’s Vivian Ravanelle’s family legacy. She’s inherited more than just the property. The inn comes with financial problems that must be solved if she doesn’t want to lose everything.

Vivi never forgot the boy who helped her overcome a lonely summer twenty-two years ago. But the boy has become a man—a handsome one who seems to reciprocate a new attraction. During Max’s stay, the two share more than family stories and personal problems. Perhaps Max’s next steps are tied to Vivi, who may find not only hope for the inn’s future, but happiness and love.

Stay tuned for more updates!
